Consultant Paediatric Surgeon, Great North Children's Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle
Victoria graduated from Birmingham Medical School (UK) in 2003. After completing her house jobs, she entered surgical training on the Heart of England Basic Surgical training rotation. Prior to commencing specialist training in Paediatric Surgery, she was an Anatomy Demonstrator at Cambridge University.
Victoria developed an interest in paediatric colorectal surgery during her training and completed a two-year paediatric colorectal research fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus Ohio. Since 2019, she has worked as a paediatric surgical consultant at the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle, with a sub-specialist interest in colorectal surgery. She is the Co-Lead of the Paediatric Colorectal Group within the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons (BAPS).
In addition to her clinical role, she also has an interest in education and has a PGC in Clinical Education. She is currently the Training Programme Director for Paediatric Surgery in the North-East of England.
Within the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS), she is the Lead Consultant for the Newcastle Paediatric Colorectal RCS Fellowship. She has also been appointed as a Quality Assurance Assessor and is a Regional Speciality Professional Advisor. She is also actively involved in teaching on the RCS Basic Surgical Skills course.
Victoria has presented at over 35 international meetings and is well published in peer reviewed journal with over 25 articles. She is author of many book chapters and is the lead author of Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Surgery Case Studies book.
