Suzie Venn

I have been a Consultant Urological Surgeon on the South Coast, specialising in reconstruction and functional Urology since 2000, but now spend most of my work time as a deputy CMO at UHSussex FT.

I first visited KCMC in Tanzania in 2005, joining the bi-annual workshop, and my interest and passion in helping develop Urology in LMICs grew from there. I have been Chair of Urolink (the overseas section of BAUS) since 2015. Urolink works to improve Urological care worldwide by teaching, training and helping build local urological capacity. We have focused our efforts on developing project sites in East Africa, from where they can build capacity. I now spend increasing amounts of time in East Africa supporting this work, and improving patient safety and leadership.
