
Mo Belal
Consultant Urologist, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham
Mr Mo Belal was educated at King Edward’s School, Edgbaston, Birmingham, and completed his medical degree at Cambridge University. His surgical training took place at several nationally renowned centres of excellence, including Guy’s Hospital, London, and the Bristol Urological Institute. Mr Belal was awarded a place on a prestigious fellowship in Melbourne, Australia, where he gained an additional year of higher surgical training.
Mr Belal was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, since 2011. He has a specialist interest in neuro-urology and urinary tract reconstruction, with a high-volume practice in the UK. He has published extensively in the field.
He is currently the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Vice President for Education. Previously, he was the Chair of the BAUS Section of Female, Neuro urology and Urodynamics. He is currently working with NHS England, representing BAUS as the Mesh Lead. He is a Trustee with several charities and is the Spinal Injuries Association Ambassador.
