Megan Baker

BOTA President, Specialty Registrar, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

Meg is a South Yorkshire orthopaedic registrar and currently serves as President of the British Orthopaedic Trainees Association (BOTA). She has a strong interest in medical education and is actively involved in supporting the development of future orthopaedic surgeons across South Yorkshire. Her work focuses on mentoring and guiding trainees at every stage of the pathway — from medical school through to core surgical training — helping aspiring surgeons pursue careers in orthopaedics.

She is also involved in developing the Yorkshire Educational Surgeons Collaborative, a network that brings together clinician educators to organise and deliver educational events aimed at improving surgical training across the region.

In addition to her national and regional roles, she serves as Resident Co‑Chair for the international Conference on Residency Education (ICRE), held annually in Canada, where she contributes to shaping discussions on the future of postgraduate medical training worldwide.
