Jenny King
RCS England IRM Lay Reviewer and BPS Chartered Psychologist
Jenny is a Chartered Psychologist working in the field of occupational psychology. She is a Co-Founder and former Director of Edgecumbe Health—a consultancy specialising in the professional performance and development of doctors. For the past nine years she has served as a Lay Member on the Invited Review panels of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians.
She is a specialist in psychological assessment and has conducted numerous individual behavioural assessments and team reviews in Trusts where performance concerns have been identified.
Jenny has a long association with RCS England. She was invited to contribute to writing its Good Practice Guides on Surgical Teamworking and Surgical Leadership. She has facilitated and chaired development days for RCS Invited Review Team members, the RCS Professional Standards team, and NHS Medical Directors. She has taught on its Women in Leadership Programme.
In 2016, after retiring from full-time consultancy, Jenny became an accredited Executive Coach, continuing to support doctors and NHS leaders through a variety of professional challenges. In 2018 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship with the Royal College of General Practitioners.
