Guy Slater

ATLS Clinical Lead (UK)

Mr Guy Slater completed his undergraduate medical training at Guy’s Hospital in 1989. He trained on the South East Thames Orthopaedic rotation and spent a year at the prestigious Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust in 2002. His areas of special interest include hip and knee replacements, and hip revision surgery. He is a member of the British Hip Society.

Guy is currently Clinical Lead for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) UK at the Royal College of Surgeons of England having served on the steering group for five years previously. He was clinical director for the Trauma and Orthopaedics directorate for three and a half years. He is the Musculo-Skeletal lead at KIMS Hospital and matchday doctor for Blackheath RFC in National League 1 and also for Kent RFU. He is faculty for Prehospital Immediate Care in Sport (PHICIS) level 3 courses.
