CRAMsurg
CRAMsurg (Clinical Research Appraisal and Methodology for Surgical trainees) was born in 2020 as an online journal club. Over the years it has evolved to become a charitable association dedicated to surgical education. We run monthly journal club sessions and research methodology teaching, support a mentoring program for core surgical trainees and for medical students, and run courses on critical appraisal and methodology. The work of the charity has resulted in over 35 publications. All of the educational content produced by the charity is available for free on our website www.cramsurg.org.
CRAMsurg is a sustainable, theory-informed educational platform, addressing gaps in evidence based medicine and research methodology training in surgery. Through virtual journal clubs, structured teaching, and mentorship, it supports longitudinal engagement and academic output. The CRAMsurg website is now the largest freely available critical appraisal resource related to surgery on the internet.
