Caris Grimes is a consultant general and colorectal surgeon based in London. She previously served as associate medical director for patient safety and quality at Medway NHS Foundation Trust and as the non‑executive director responsible for patient safety on the governing body of Surrey Heartlands CCG.
Alongside her clinical work, Caris is a medical examiner in Surrey, providing independent scrutiny of medical records and speaking with bereaved families. She has written two books and several articles on learning from failure.
