Tim Mitchell

RCS England President, Consultant ENT Surgeon, University Hospital Southampton

Tim Mitchell is a Consultant Otolaryngologist and President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England). He studied medicine at Brasenose College, Oxford, before training in otolaryngology across Oxford, London, Cambridge, and Sydney. He was awarded the inaugural Graham Fraser Memorial Fellowship for his work in cochlear implantation.

He has held numerous leadership and advisory roles, including RCS England Regional Specialty Professional Advisor, Vice Chair of the Clinical Reference Group for Specialised Ear Services, and member of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Otolaryngology.

He has been an MRCS Examiner since 2004 and was Chair of the Court of Examiners from 2014 to 2017. He was elected to the College Council in 2017. He became Vice President of RCS England in 2020 and was elected President in 2023. He is also a Trustee of ENT UK.
