Mr Ryan Kerstein is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, specialising in skin cancer. He is RCS England’s I-Hub Lead, shaping the role of the clinical innovator and driving the future of surgery through emerging technologies. He also serves as Associate Medical Director for Research and Innovation and leads BRAIn (Buckinghamshire Research and Innovation), fostering strategic partnerships to advance research, service transformation, and population health.

With over 20 years of innovation experience, Ryan co-founded ASep Healthcare Ltd, commercialising Tournistrip, a single-use tourniquet now widely used across the NHS and globally.

He is Editor-in-Chief of the RCS England Bulletin journal and is committed to translating clinical insight into meaningful innovation.

In parallel with his clinical and leadership roles, Ryan is a Senior Tutor at both Oxford University and the University of Buckingham, mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals and innovators.
