Consultant Maxillofacial Head Neck Surgeon, Professor of Extended Reality in Medicine and Surgery, Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Professor Jag Dhanda is an Oral and Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in reconstruction and head and neck oncology and a Professor of Surgery and Extended Reality in Medicine and Surgery. He has been the successful recipient of three Royal College of Surgeons of England research fellowships (college, board and specialty). Professor Dhanda is the founder and clinical lead for Virtual Reality in Medicine and Surgery (VRiMS.net), a training resource for surgeons and healthcare professionals using extended reality, with one of the largest footprints in extended reality in the world. VRiMS has delivered hundreds of workshops in virtual reality to thousands of medical students. His work has established itself in every medical school in the UK and now is expanding into Europe. His non-profit work extends to training in five Africa countries in which devices and content are donated to train the workforce in low resource settings.
