David Edwards
Specialist Endodontist and Clinical Fellow in Restorative Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences, Newcastle University
David combines academic and clinical practice at Newcastle Dental Hospital and in private practice. He completed the Specialty Membership in Endodontics in 2024 and Fellowship in 2025. He is the Degree Programme Director for the MClinDent in Endodontics at Newcastle University and is an active researcher in dental pain, pulp biology, dental education and vital pulp treatments.
His PhD focused on dental pain and the management of pulpitis. It attracted external funding from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the European Society of Endodontology, the British Endodontic Society and the Wellcome Trust, and led to international presentations and awards.
