Andrea is a Consultant Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgeon at The Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Her clinical expertise includes pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (pNETs), chronic pancreatitis, acute pancreatitis, inherited pancreatic disorders, robotic surgery, clinical research and guideline development.
Following completion of her PhD, Andrea has continued to actively engage in research and education. She is passionate about further developing UK collaborative HPB research and strengthening research initiatives across Europe. She was delighted to be recently appointed as a mentor on the Pan‑European Pancreas 2000 programme.
Andrea also has a strong track record in delivering high‑quality national educational events and surgical skills courses. She does this through her current roles as the regional representative for the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery (AUGIS) and as a member of the Early Careers Group Committee for the European–African Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (E‑AHPBA). She has also served as the national HPB trainee representative.
Andrea’s strongest drive is to raise the visibility of women in HPB and surgery, help build and sustain a culture of inclusivity, and champion and mentor surgeons in training.
